Company Background

Reverence for tradition and extreme attention to detail – that’s the best way to sum-up Stevenson Overall Company (SOC) of Japan. Materials are sourced from wherever the best are found, regardless of cost: cotton from Zambia (handpicked so the fibers are longer, making for more flexible material), indigo from Germany (source of the strongest natural dye), denim from Japan (woven on antique looms), these are just a few examples. Methods employed are only those of the highest quality, regardless of time, which usually means “by hand.” Historical accuracy of the smallest details, like zippers, buttons and threads, are considered in every item. From raw materials to finished product it can take hundreds of hours to make one SOC garment, and pattern runs are always limited to small quantities. That’s why, like any investment, amortization is sometimes considered when purchasing a SOC item. There’s just nothing quite like it in the world. Trust us. Buy just one item and you’ll be hooked.
