Dunoon Lined Overcoat

Individually constructed by hand for the last 160+ years, each Mackintosh coat is a work of craftsmanship.

Made from the patented rubberized cotton that gave rise to this legendary Scottish brand, Mackintosh fabric is renowned for its ability to shed rain while maintaining its shape and appearance. And the addition of the detachable wool tartan lining from the famed Fox Brothers mill in England makes this a true year-round garment.

Falling above the knee, the cut and style is versatile, clean, contemporary and classically timeless.

This color combination – navy with plum interior – is exclusive to Bench & Loom.

Company Background

In the early 1800s when a chemist in Scotland by the name of Charles Macintosh discovered a way to bond and rubberize cotton, the result was the world's first waterproof dry fabric. Ever since, "the Mackintosh" has been synonymous with rainwear.

Still made by hand in Scotland by people who must be specially trained for three years, each Mackintosh takes several days to construct and is a pride of craftsmanship and tradition.
